Kamalganj is located at . It has 37112 units of house hold and total area 485.26 km².

Demographics

As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Kamalganj has a population of 191672. Males constitute are 50.98% of the population, and females 49.02%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 102877. Kamalganj has an average literacy rate of 28.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]

Kamalganj has 9 Unions/Wards, 118 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 276 villages. The Unions are: Shamsher Nagar, Patanushar, Rahimpur, Munshi Bazar, Ali Nagar, Kamalganj, Adampur, Islampur, Madhabpur.

Places of interest

Shamsher Nagar Union Town have a nice Airport under "Bangladesh Air Force". Bangladesh Air Force Survival Training School, BAF Shaheen College, Shamsher Nagar, Tea Garden. The grave of 1971 Patriot at Shamsher Nagar Air Port. Shamsher Nagar Railway Station are also looking nice place. Golf Field at Shamsher Nagar Tea Garden is also nice looking scenery. Shamsher Nagar A. A. T. M. Bohumukhi High School, an oldest high school of this Sub-district. Shingraully village is a biggest village of this Upazila.
